Choosing a School: A Guide for Parents

Choosing a school is a big moment. Right up there with choosing a pram, a first pet or agreeing to sign your child up for weekend sport for the next decade. It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed, but take a breath. This guide is here to make the process feel lighter, clearer and a lot less daunting, so you can feel confident you’re asking the right questions and find a school that truly fits your child for any grade.

Today our Kindy students enjoyed their very first meditation lesson in the library. They are learning that taking a quiet moment to breathe and relax helps to keep both their head and heart happy. It was a fantastic effort, even our library Wombat joined in.

Today, CSPD joins people across Australia in prayer and solidarity with the Jewish community on this National Day of Mourning for the victims of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack. The theme the Chabad Community in Bondi chose is: 'Light will win, a gathering of unity and remembrance. Members of the public are invited to observe one minute of silence on the National Day of Mourning to honour those impacted by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack at 19:01 AEDT on 22 January 2026. As a nation in mourning, we hold the victims and their loved ones in prayer and ask God to bring comfort, healing and peace to our community. Our Year 6 leaders for 2026 look forward to welcoming students in Years 1-6 on Monday 2nd February. Parents are invited to join us for our morning assembly at 8:30am. As advised, gates will open at 8am, there is no supervision prior to this and students cannot be left in the car park unsupervised. If you require supervision before 8am, please contact Ambrose.
