After much anticipation our Design-A-Thon Day has arrived at St Bernadette's!
The Design-A-Thon provides students with the opportunity to utilise their creative and innovative skills, designing various sculptures, artworks and products.
The students involved had a blast and we're all looking forward to our next Design-A-Thon in 2018!

Last week we hd the NRMA Science and Road Safety show at St Bernadette's. Your child's safety is Paramount! Here are some tips from the day for PARENTS: 1. Booster Seat Safety By law, all children under 7 must use a booster seat. Booster seats raise children up so that the adult seatbelt fits safely — across their collarbone and hip bones, not their neck or stomach. 2. Correct Seatbelt Positioning If a child places their seatbelt under their arm, it may be a sign they still need a booster seat. The rib cage is too fragile in a crash — the seatbelt must sit properly to protect them. 3. Front Seat Dangers Airbags deploy at 300km/h and are designed for adult bodies. Children under 150cm tall may be seriously injured by airbags, so it’s safest to keep them in the back seat as long as possible. 4. Bike Helmet Fit Ensure bike helmets sit correctly — no more than two fingers’ width above the eyebrows and between the chin and strap. Avoid high ponytails or hats under helmets for the best fit. 5. Helmet Safety Reminder Never cut or modify a helmet’s foam. After any impact, even if the helmet looks fine, it must be replaced — the inner foam may be compromised. 6. Bike Sizing & Control The balls of your child’s feet should touch the ground when seated on the bike. Also check that brakes, gears, and the bell are easily accessible and functioning properly.

St Bernadette's welcomed some very special visitors from BUPA Dural on Monday as part of our intergenerational program. Year 5 students made our guests feel right at home! We were entertained by the choir, enjoyed a cuppa and cake while chatting, and finished with a nail-biting game of bingo – where we were all winners! Thank you to the parish for hosting this event in the Marian Centre.

Congratulations Cameron! 🏊🏆🥇🥇🥈🏊♂️💙 Cameron has been competing at the SSA- National Championships for swimming in Ballarat representing NSW. 1st 100m Breaststroke 1st 200m Medley Relay 2nd 50m Breaststroke 6th 200m Individual Medley What an outstanding achievement for Cameron and his family! We are so proud and cannot wait to have him back at school to share his success. Looking at a bright future for this super fish 🐟🐠🐬
