A welcome message from St Bernadette's Principal, Bianca Cooke.
Dear Families and Colleagues,
I would like to warmly welcome you to St Bernadette's Primary. Founded by the Mercy Sisters in 1956, St Bernadette's has a long and proud tradition of providing quality Catholic education to the families of Castle Hill. Our school motto of 'Strength through Gentleness' encourages us to live our lives as Jesus taught us and persist in times of adversity by drawing on the strength of our faith.
Belonging to our school means being part of a vibrant learning community where our students are supported as they grow. Our highly skilled teachers and well equipped facilities provide children with relevant and challenging learning opportunities that enable them to learn and solve problems in a variety of ways. We teach our children that to be successful, now and in the future, we need to be safe, respectful, resilient, and most importantly, lifelong learners.
At St Bernadette's we have a friendly and welcoming culture with its foundation in the positive relationships created between students, parents, staff, the parish and the wider community. We encourage parental involvement and provide many opportunities for families to support their child’s learning progress, as well as taking part in social activities that help to build a strong sense of community.
We recognise that part of our duty as educators is to prepare the leaders of tomorrow, giving them the skills they need to be compassionate, confident and capable. This is the focus of our student leadership program, and in addition, the wide variety of extracurricular activities on offer such as public speaking and debating, drama, music and a range of sports. Our students are encouraged to develop a range of interests and abilities in order to receive a balanced holistic education.
Enjoy browsing our website and visiting our Facebook page to learn more about St Bernadette’s. I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
