Thank you to all of our wonderful helpers at our working bee today. We filled a gigantic skip bin with green waste and the place looks great. Couldn't have done it without Steve Lavis as our P&F maintenance coordinator. Thanks everyone.

COME AND JOIN US!!!! Calling all K-2 Parents, Grandparents and Guardians!! We would like to invite you to “Rug Reading”. Come along with a picnic rug and a picture book and share a story with your child and a small group of infants students. Tuesday 25th March 2pm Lots more books will be available.

Commitment to Close the Gap clear for Western Sydney Catholic schools
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has released its first annual Closing the Gap report. This report outlines its contribution to improving socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly students and their families. CSPD Chief Executive Officer Jack de Groot said the report reflects the dedication of CSPD’s 6 500 staff in fostering reconciliation and equity through the organisation’s 80 outstanding school across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

On Monday the 10th March, our Year 6 students joined peers from 14 other catholic schools at John XXIII for a special formation experience called 'Encounter,' developed by the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Mission Team. The day of reflection featured Melbourne-based Catholic singer-songwriter Gen Bryant and her band, accompanied by musicians from the Diocese’s Mission Enhancement Team and Catholic Youth Parramatta. To conclude this meaningful experience, Father Menard led the students in adoration, a profound act of devotion and worship of Jesus Christ. The students had time for reflection and worship which brought them together as a catholic community.

Today the kingdom of Year 6 was established. This kingdom was ruled by HRH Queen Lee, HRH Queen Younis and HRH Queen Graves. For this entry event the students were split into different groups with varying rules to represent the early colonies and give them an understanding of why these colonies federated to become the Commonwealth of Australia.

A big shout out to our amazing St Bernadette's staff who generously gave up some of their free time last weekend to help promote our school at the Hills Schools Expo. They proudly spoke to hundreds of people about our fabulous school and clearly showed their love for St Bernadette's. We even had a photo with the Hills Shire Mayor, Dr Michelle Byrne and Hills Deputy Mayor, Mr Frank De Masi. Thank you so much for your amazing support of our students and of me! Bianca Cooke

Every year St Bernadette's support Project Compassion with donations to help the less fortunate. St Bernadette's will be taking part in 'Caritas K's' where students and staff will walk laps around our school site carrying bags of rice or buckets of water. These K's for Caritas help raise awareness of global poverty. Many underprivileged people, including young children, walk several kilometres daily to access fresh water, education or work. Many of the things that we take for granted.
