Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June.
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.
The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system. CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

Sydney Swifts Netball Clinic Over the past few weeks Year 6 were invited to participate in a four day curriculum mapped program run by the Sydney Swifts. They engaged in activities both in the classroom and on the netball court which supported studentsโ learning in wellbeing, relationships and movement. Today was our last session which involved meeting one of the players from the Swifts, Tayla Fraser. She even took the time at the end to sign some autographs for our huge Swifty fans!

Thatโs a wrap! ๐ฆ๐บ Last night was full of laughter with a late-night visit to Questacon and an impromptu talent show. Today we explored Embassy Drive, visited the National Zoo & Aquarium, and wrapped up our adventure at the AIS. Canberra, youโve been a delight! Thank you for turning on the sunshine and giving us so many unforgettable memories. Our hearts are full, our bodies are weary, and weโre now Sydney bound! ๐โ๏ธ

Year 6 have had a fabulous first day in Canberra! ๐ฆ๐บ Today we explored some of our nationโs most iconic places including the Mint, Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy, the Australian War Memorial and enjoyed the incredible views from Mt Ainslie. After a delicious dinner, the excitement continues as we head off to Questacon for an evening of fun and discovery. Looking forward to another amazing day tomorrow!
