Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June.
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.
The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system. CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

Our Year 6 leaders for 2026 look forward to welcoming students in Years 1-6 on Monday 2nd February. Parents are invited to join us for our morning assembly at 8:30am. As advised, gates will open at 8am, there is no supervision prior to this and students cannot be left in the car park unsupervised. If you require supervision before 8am, please contact Ambrose.

The joy of holidays... There was joy on our whole school reward, congratulations to all the students who enjoyed 7 fun activities that took the whole day- including the inflatable obstacle course. Thank you to the P&F who provided a sausage sizzle and Zooper Dooper for each child. Even the teachers enjoyed a session on the obstacle course! Congrats to Miss Piperata from Kindy who remained unbeatable!

This term, Year 3 explored Mosaic Art, learning how artists decorate surfaces using small, coloured materials such as tiles and glass placed closely together. With plenty of creativity and care, our students transformed pieces of plywood into beautiful Christmas wreaths, ready to brighten their homes and spread festive cheer. A huge thank you to our Parent Helpers, Teacher Aides and friends who helped make this special “Crafternoon” such a wonderful success! Year 3 would like to wish the St Bernadette’s community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas cheer from the choir 🎄🎅 Some members of our choir performed at the Epping Club on Wednedsday. The club also gave our school a donation to buy some more resources for our school's music department- very generous! Thank you to the parents and grandparents for always bringing the children early to rehearsals each week.

Today, the families who sold the most raffle tickets for our school fun fair were treated to an amazing day out! The fun kicked off with a movie and bowling, and wrapped up with some delicious pizza for lunch. Intergenerational Christmas Visit. We topped off a wonderful year of intergenerational activities with a special Christmas visit to BUPA Dural and MacKillop House Norwest. Alongside students from Gilroy College, our students shared festive cheer by singing Christmas carols and spending time chatting with the residents. In between visits, the students enjoyed a well-earned McDonald’s lunch together. This year, more than 150 students had the opportunity to participate in our intergenerational program, building connections with a very important part of our community. Thank you to all that participated and we look forward to 2026.
